Testimonies of Healings
In 1984 I recall, a girl in the youth
group I worked with was learning to drive. She misjudged the speed
of a truck coming over a hill, and it slammed into her side leaving both
her and her mother in bad condition. Her mother recovered quickly,
but Lisa remained in a coma for about 9 months as I recall. Could
have been 7. Anyway, a long time.
The doctors were convinced that the
damage to this beautiful girls body was so severe that she would never
recover. At best they told her mother, she would be a "vegetable".
But her mother, in spite of the doctors apparent need to convince her of
these "facts" continued to pray for her daughter each day and stayed with
her through the ordeal.
Last time I saw Lisa, she was beginning
to walk again, and was completely "there" in her spirit. Her physical
control wasn't back to 100% by any means, but she managed to graduate from
high school. This seems like a great accomplishment for a vegetable.
What do you suppose it is? What
makes doctors so certain that God cannot intervene? You'd think after
seeing case after case like this, they would finally swallow their pride
and say "The condition of your daughter looks very bad to us ma'am, and
unless something happens that we don't understand, [insert prognosis]".
But rather, the people trained so well to know the human body have failed
to see a very critical element in it's fabric.
We are all created in God's image.
Our bodies are only the house for our spirit, for God is spirit.
The body itself is so very complex. If we leave off our understanding
with only what we learn about it, then our understanding of the BIG picture
is very bleak indeed. Such a person shouldn't even be called a "physician".
But there is a physician who knows every part of us. If we turn to
him, we can put to shame the wisdom of the "wise" of this world.
