Circuit Overview:
Audio signal processing comes of age. A digital ROM wavetable synth. Dave Smith was hired after his SY22 vector synth project with Yamaha and used many samples from his Prophet VS in the WS. It's a great synth with tons of routing options and decent fx processing. The A/D version adds interjection of two audio inputs which can be used as voices..in other words the audio stream because the 'wave' if selected...so it can interject whatever you are doing in a segment of a wave sequence for instance. The SR machines are trimmed down to get the sounds in a small rack. EX has added wave memory and more fx.

Service Tips:
My first WS intermittently started resetting itself while playing. Many repair attemtps later Korg gave me a new EX machine which has been my main axe since. Thanks guys. I have seen a peculiar problem where I get...early distortion in the FX processing it seems but maybe it was always there and I just never noticed. I have to back volumes off in the details page on ROM patches to keep it from doing this annoying raspy distortion when I play different loud combinations of notes. Must get to the bottom of that someday. Anyone see it? Fixed it? I have schemos now so I'll get to it some day.

Parts:
Aside from keys etc. probably will be hard to find most things outside scrap units on this one.Contact
